Healthcare & therapy in VR

Hospitals and clinics use VR to manage pain, treat phobias and PTSD, and rehabilitate patients — with the same headsets we rent.

What it means

Virtual reality has moved from novelty to clinical tool. It works because the brain treats a convincing virtual environment as real enough to respond to — useful for distraction, exposure and rehabilitation. None of it requires buying hardware to try.

The clinical logic is distraction and controlled exposure. A burn patient in a snow world reports measurably less pain during dressing changes. A patient with a fear of flying boards a virtual plane twenty times before the real one — with the therapist adjusting turbulence from a tablet. Rehab turns repetitive exercises into games patients actually complete.

Where it's used

💉

Pain distraction

Immersive environments measurably reduce perceived pain during dressings, injections and minor procedures — especially with children and burn patients.

🧠

Exposure therapy

Phobias, anxiety and PTSD are treated with controlled, repeatable exposure to triggers a therapist can dial up or down.

🦿

Rehabilitation

Stroke and physio patients rebuild movement through gamified exercises that track progress and keep motivation up.

Why VR works here

  • Drug-free pain distraction with published evidence
  • Exposure therapy the clinician fully controls
  • Rehab exercises patients want to repeat
  • Standalone headsets — no IT project required

How it goes in practice

1

Scope the clinical use

We discuss the patient group and load the right therapy platforms.

2

Pilot with real sessions

A week or a month in your clinic — no capital spend.

3

Scale what works

Keep renting, or we advise on buying your own fleet.

Hospitals · physio & rehab clinics · psychotherapy practices · dental clinics · care homes

Apps & tools you'd use

Guided-exposure therapy apps · physio & rehab platforms · Tripp

All installed before your headset ships — and we can add your own on request.

How VRENT helps

We rent every headset this needs — Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest 2 — pre-installed with the right apps, delivered and set up anywhere in Switzerland. Most people start with a one-week pilot before committing to anything.

Questions

Is it clinically used?

Yes — VR is used in hospitals and clinics for pain distraction, exposure therapy and rehabilitation. We supply the hardware; clinical use stays with your professionals.

Do we need to buy anything?

No. Most start with a rental pilot to see if it fits before any purchase.
